About this role
Our client is a progressive 320-cow, autumn-calving dairy farm in central Somerset looking for an experienced Herd Manager to lead their milking team.
You will take full responsibility for herd health, fertility performance, feed management, and staff scheduling. The farm is well-equipped with a new 24/48 parlour and cubicle housing, and works closely with a specialist nutritionist and vet.
This is a long-term role suited to a career herdsperson or assistant manager ready to step up. A strong record of calving and fertility results is essential.
Requirements
- 5+ years in a senior dairy role
- Experience with autumn-block calving
- Confident with DairyComp / Uniform-Agri
- Valid UK driving licence
- Right to Work in the UK
